An air hostess is a member of the cabin crew on a commercial airline who works to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during a flight. Air hostesses are also responsible for checking the emergency arrangements before flight take-off and landing.

Gopika Govind became the first Scheduled Tribe woman to fly as an air hostess in Kerala in September 2022. She has a Master’s in Chemistry following which she opted for a Diploma in IATA (Indian Aviation Training Academy) customer service care at Dream Sky Aviation Training Academy in Wayanad.
